Sean Farrington joined Holowesko Partners Ltd. as a Partner at its inception. He is a Director and Portfolio Manager of all HPL funds, along with Mark Holowesko. Sean is responsible for working with the analyst team to establish and monitor individual security positions and oversee portfolio weightings. Sean maintains research coverage in a number of countries and a variety of industries with a particular emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region and Financials.
Sean began his investment career in 1991 with Templeton Global Advisors as a research analyst. He later assumed portfolio management responsibility overseeing six Templeton Funds and numerous managed accounts. By 2000, Sean was a Senior Vice President at Templeton responsible for over US$10.9 billion in assets. Among the portfolios he managed was the Templeton Growth Fund, which at the time was the largest equity mutual fund in Canada.
Outside of HPL, Sean serves as the Chairman of the Investment Committee of First Trust Bank, which oversees asset management for Sir John Templeton’s offshore foundations.
Sean is a graduate of Harvard University where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1991. He is a CFA charterholder, and a member and past president of The Bahamas CFA Society.
